Terms of service

By creating an account, or by using this service at all, you agree to these terms. Using the product is the acceptance: there is no separate signature. If you do not agree with any part of them, do not use the service.

If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.

The version you accepted is recorded on your account when you sign up, so that a later change to this page does not silently become something you agreed to earlier.

You paste a job posting. Rehearsea reads it, researches the company, writes a study plan with notes for every part of it, rehearses you with scored practice interviews, and can write a resume and a cover letter shaped to that posting.

The writing is done by an AI assistant working from what you paste. It is fast, and it can be wrong: it can misread a posting, state something confidently that is not true, or miss the one thing the employer cares about most. Read every document before you send it to anyone. Nothing here is career, legal or financial advice.

What you send to an employer is yours to stand behind. If a document leaves with something false in it, the decision to send it was yours, not the assistant's.

One person per account. Keep the details on it accurate, do not share it, and do not open accounts for other people.

You are responsible for your sign-in details, and for anything done through your account. If you think someone else has your password, reset it.

You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account.

You can delete your account whenever you like, from the account screen. That cancels any subscription and deletes your data; the data security page sets out exactly what goes and what stays.

• Do not scrape the service or collect data from it in bulk. Reading your own postings, plans and transcripts is what the screens are for.
• Do not paste material you are not allowed to share: a confidential document from an employer, someone else's resume, or a posting you are bound to keep private. What you paste is sent to the providers named on the data security page.
• Do not resell what is written for you as a service of your own.
• Do not try to reach an account that is not yours, break the separation between accounts, or get round the plan limits and the paywall.
• Do not use the service to break the law, to harass anyone, or to build something designed to do either.

You can cancel a monthly or yearly plan at any time from the billing page. Cancelling stops future charges, and the plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Subscriptions renew by themselves until you cancel. A monthly plan renews every month on the day you started it and a yearly plan renews every 12 months, at the price shown when you subscribed, and the card on file is charged automatically on each renewal. You can cancel at any time from the billing page or the billing portal link in your account; cancelling stops the next renewal and nothing else. We email you before a yearly plan renews, and the price you will be charged is always the price on this site at the time you subscribed or the price we told you about before a change took effect.

The Starter plan is $0 a month and still requires a payment method: nothing is ever charged on it, and the card is what stops the free allowance being farmed with a new email address.

If the first payment did not do what you needed, write to us within 14 days of it and we will refund it in full. After that window, and for later periods, payments are not refundable, because the credits in a period are spendable the moment they are granted and most of what we spend is spent when you spend them.

Nothing in this section limits a right you have under the consumer protection law that applies where you live. Where that law gives you more than this, that law prevails.

Some of this service can run on a free third-party model endpoint, which is what makes a free plan possible. On that endpoint your input is not private.

When the free model is used, the text you submit, including the job posting you paste, your resume and the answers you give in a rehearsal, is sent to that third-party provider. They log it for security, and they may use it to improve their products and services. It is not tied to you by a persistent identifier, but it is not confidential and it is not covered by the privacy expectations of a paid endpoint.

The paid path is not automatically the more private one, and this page used to imply that it was. The default provider on the paid path is DeepSeek, whose privacy policy says it may use inputs to improve and train its models, keeps input data for as long as the account exists, and stores and processes data in China. The free-tier provider is bound by a stricter agreement: it may not train on inputs or outputs unless we permit it, does not retain inference data by default, and stores what it does keep in the United States. The data security page names every provider and what each one receives.

So the rule is the same on every plan: do not paste anything confidential, do not paste personal data about anyone else, and treat everything you submit as material an outside company may hold. If you need a stricter arrangement than that, write to us before you paste.

What you paste stays yours. So do the plans, notes, transcripts, resumes and cover letters written for you: use them however you like, including sending them to employers.

You give us permission to do the things the service needs: store your material, show it back to you, and pass the parts a step works from to the providers listed on the data security page. That permission lasts as long as you keep the material here, and deleting your account ends it.

The software, the design, the wording of the questions, the shape of the plans, and the instructions we give the AI are ours. The code that runs this service carries a copyright notice, and nothing on this page gives you a licence to copy, resell or rebuild the service.

That does not reach your side of it: your postings, your resume and the documents written for you stay yours.

The service runs on infrastructure we rent and depends on providers we do not control, so it can be slow, and it can be unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and we do not promise that a particular feature stays forever.

We can change the service. If we remove something you are paying for, you can cancel, and the refund paragraph above says where that leaves you.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that tries to get round the plan limits, or that puts other people's data at risk. Where we can, we tell you why first.

You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from the account screen. When an account closes, the data goes with it: the data security page sets out what is deleted and what our payment provider keeps.

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise that the research about a company is accurate or complete, that a practice score tells you how a real interview will go, or that a document written for you will get you an interview or an offer.

The one thing to take away from this page: the AI writing can be wrong, and you are the one who checks it before an employer reads it.

Your rehearsal score is produced automatically. No person reads your answer or your score before you do, and a score is one model's reading of what you said, not a measurement of how an interview will go. Because that decision is made by software alone, you can ask us for the information it was based on, for the reasons and the main factors, and you can ask for a person to review it. Write to the address on the data security page and we will answer within 30 days.

We are not a careers service, a recruiter, an employer or a lawyer, and nothing here is professional advice. We do not guarantee an interview, an offer, a salary or any other outcome, and we have no employment relationship with you or with any employer you apply to. Hiring decisions are made by other people, on facts we do not control.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost opportunities, lost income, an employer's decision, or for indirect or consequential losses of any kind, and our total liability on any claim is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and CAD 50.

The floor is there because the cap would otherwise be zero on the Starter plan, and a limit that permits recovery of nothing is not a limit a court has to respect.

What this section does not limit. It does not limit our liability for fraud, for wilful misconduct, for gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or restrict. It does not take away a right you have under the consumer protection law where you live, and where that law gives you more than this section does, that law prevails.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over a dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer, that does not take away the protection of the law where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts.

Before either of us starts a proceeding, write to us and we will try to settle the matter directly for 30 days.

When the text changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the version you are reading is the one that applies. If a change is material, we tell you before it takes effect, so you can decide whether to carry on.

If you do not accept a change, cancel before it takes effect and delete your account.
